FAQ

Please submit your application for OIML certificate to the OIML Issuing Authority, China (National Institute of Metrology, China).

Yes. Considering the complexity of OIML technical requirements, please contact the OIML Issuing Authority, China via telephone: 010-64525646, Email: oimlia@nim.ac.cn to make necessary preparation before application.

  1. A completed OIML Certificate Application Form with official seal and signature.
  2. Technical documents specified in Item 4 of OIML Certificate Application Form.
  3. The OIML Certification Agreement with seal and signature.
  4. samples need to be provided to the laboratory.

Please fill in Item 3 “Instrument Category” in the OIML Certificate Application Form with instrument category names in the following table.

  1. Technical documents catalogue with page numbers shall be provided.
  2. Technical documents shall be affixed with an official seal on each page, or bound into a book with a seal on the cover page and a cross-page seal.
  1. Test fee. Currently, test fee is charged by designated OIML Test laboratories, so please inquire the specific OIML Test laboratories about their rates.
  2. Registration fee. At present, the registration fee of OIML certificate is 350 euros, which shall be paid by the owner of the OIML certificate to the International Bureau of Legal Metrology (BIML). The OIML certificate shall be valid only after registered by BIML. It will be withdrawn if the registration fee is not received within three months after the invoice is issued.

Type examination certificate, issued by the OIML Issuing Authority, attesting the conformity of a type of a measuring instrument or module with the relevant requirements of an OIML International Recommendations at the time of testing and evaluation.

(1) Operating/Instruction manual, including a description of the adjustment (calibration) procedure;

(2) Photographs of the instrument;

(3) Production standard;

(4) Testing standards/procedures;

(5) Mechanical diagrams (including exploded views of all types, if applicable);

(6) List of main components;

(7) sealing/securing information, including a drawing with the locations where and description how the instrument can be secured against dismantling and adjustment by the user;

(8) Diagrams showing the markings on the individual instruments;

(9) Relevant test reports;

(10) block diagram of the Software;

(11) Drawings of the electric circuit;

(12) PCB drawings;

(13) Any OIML certificate, type evaluation report or test report obtained for the relevant modules.
